FASTER, STRONGER, LONGER
Imagine the success you will have WHEN DIETING FEELS THIS GOOD!
The Test Provides You With
Resting Metabolic Rate
Calories required for weight loss or weight gain.
Metabolism
Metabolism is the conversion of food to energy and metabolic rate is a measure of how much food, or fat, is converted to energy in a day. Resting metabolic rate (RMR) is the amount of food, or energy required to maintain basic body functions (e.g. heart rate and breathing) at rest and is expressed in calories per day. The number of calories the body burns at any time is directly related to oxygen consumption and therefore following a precise measurement of oxygen uptake at rest using indirect calorimetry, we are able to provide the most accurate results readily available for determining RMR.
How is the Test Conducted?
During the RMR test you will sit back on a chair or couch and breathe in and out of the indirect calorimeter machine for approximately 10 minutes. The process requires you to rest quietly, and therefor there is no exertion (exercise) required. Following the test, you will receive a printout providing an analysis of the metabolic test which includes accurate daily calorie guidelines for maintaining and losing weight.
Understand your body’s unique metabolic rate and customize your program:
• Screening for a slowed metabolism, which may explain frustrated attempts to lose weight in the past.
• Revealing changes in your metabolism to help troubleshoot plateaus.
• Identifying the precise caloric prescription for maintenance to help you sustain your goal.
Learning to eat to your metabolism will free you to leave conventional diets behind and move on to a healthy and satisfying lifestyle
Pre-Test Requirements
It is desirable to measure a person’s metabolic rate at a true resting level. To ensure one is at rest, we recommend the following preparation:
- Avoid eating a meal 4 hours before the test.
- Avoid exercising on the day of testing.
- If possible, avoid the use of stimulants such as caffeine prior to testing.
- During the test it will be important to get into a comfortable position and relax as much as possible.
- Keep lips sealed lightly around the mouthpiece. It is important that all the air breathed out is analyzed by your KORR® machine.
Weight Loss
When restricting calories, knowing a baseline RMR is invaluable. KORR Metabolic Analyzers calculate a “weight loss zone” for 1 ½ pound a week weight loss, or practitioners can use the RMR to calculate a caloric goal unique for their patients.
Prices
The cost for a single RMR test is £35, and the session will last approximately 30minutes. Following the test, you will receive a printout providing an analysis of the metabolic test which includes accurate daily calorie guidelines for maintaining and losing weight
The cost for an RMR test and 2 x 30minute nutritional consultations is £100.
